Introduction
The aim of this module is to assist students in consolidating their knowledge of basic and clinical pharmacology to achieve the prescribing competencies described by the Medical Schools Council Safe Prescribing Working Group for Foundation Year 1 doctors.
Through interactive learning sessions and on-line resources you will learn about safe prescribing, including prescription review, planning management, communicating information, drug dose calculation, adverse drug reactions, drug monitoring and data interpretation.
All students must successfully complete the national Prescribing Safety Assessment, provided jointly by the Medical Schools Council and the British Pharmacological Society.
